From retirement to "rewirement"

The guiding belief in my coaching practice is inspired by Brené Brown:
"Connection is why we're here. We are hardwired to connect with others, it's what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering."
If you are nearing the end of your career or are a restless retiree, I can help you navigate through what may be the biggest transition of your life - retirement. Or as I like to think of it - rewirement! Being mentally and emotionally prepared for what happens when your career ends will prepare you for when your real life begins. Our focus is on how best to meet both the challenges and the opportunities that this new phase of your life brings.
If not now, when?
What gets you out of bed in the morning?

"Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you."
Oprah Winfrey
Explore a renewed purpose in life by:
-
Taking stock of where you are now and where you want to go
-
Identifying what's really important to you
-
Recalibrating how you measure your personal success, what do you want to be remembered for?
-
Transforming paralysis into positive, life-affirming, action
How will you spend your time?

"The best way to predict the future is to create it."
For most adults in full-time jobs, work schedules provided the structure that the rest of our lives were organized around. Freedom from those time restraints is the central theme of retirement. Right?
While we imagine that our lives will be rich, relaxed, and fulfilling, this freedom can have a paralyzing and daunting effect. This may be the only chance you've had your entire life to spend your time exactly how you want to spend it. It's worth investing some careful thought and a plan to see your way forward. I can help.
How will you cope with life's challenges?

"Life is 10% what happens to us ... and 90% of how we react to it"
Our health, our families and the things that mean the most to us become more precious, now that we have the time to truly appreciate them. In reality, there will always be moments we have little to no control over, but what we can control is how we react to those moments. You will learn about acceptance and how to exert your power of choice over whatever life may throw at you. I can help you to be aware of your habits of thinking, behaving and feeling. Recognizing these habits and learning how to listen mindfully to ourselves, will help you deal with anxiety and difficult emotions.
How will you maintain a healthy lifestyle?

"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving."
Albert Einstein

George Bernard Shaw
